Devolve Me

February 26, 2009

Do you want to find out how you looked 3.7 million years ago? Here’s a tool where you can upload your picture and find out. It’s not that scientific but fun nevertheless. You may need a few tries before you get it right. Btw, all pictures come out more or less the same for the first two periods ( 3.7 million and 2.2 million) so don’t bother uploading pictures of all your friends and family to check how they would have looked !! With this tool you can find out how humans looked when we were in the following stages of our evolution

  • Australopithecus afarensis (3.7 million year ago )
  • Homo habilis (2.2 million years ago)
  • Homo erectus (1.8 million years ago)
  • Homo heidelbergensis (500,000 years ago)

I used Albert Einstein’s picture and this is how he (or anyone for that matter) would have looked 3.7 million years ago. 🙂

I didn’t want to spoil it for everone in case they were curious, so I decided not to publish his pictures from the other 3 periods. Here’s some more information about the most famous afarensis discovered till date – ‘Lucy‘ .

I am not sure what you mean by monkeys …maybe I didn’t understand you correctly…but humans did not evolve from monkeys/chimps ..thats a common misconception about evolution…chimps and humans have a common ancestry..but then they evolved along two different paths…and that ancestor was neither a chimp nor a human..

Oh! Thanks for the misconception cleared 🙂
Then what was that ancestor, if he had been given any name?

Feel free to participate in the discussion about evolution, universe, Souls and vedanta at:

May be you can post a link to the discussion from your blog about iskon and evolution.

You will see from my comments that I am trying to practice what I had mentioned earlier – be as patient as possible, be as calm as possible, appreciate good things, try not to loose attention of the other party but don’t forget to question wrong notions. Most comments I read from that blog, people are definitely biased and routinely get carried away .. so its a good debating environment to practice your online debating skills 🙂 Almost like anger management. Practicing and learning to let go 🙂

omg, am i sounding apologetic for being defensive. kaise din agaye.

Thanks for the link. The discussion on that blog is long and will take some time for me to catch up. I noticed some of your posts. I think that’s the way to go even you sound like an apologist. 🙂
